Blades Legends preparing for face-off against Fulham All Stars
18th May 2016
Celebrities and former footballers are gearing up for a charity football match at Bramall Lane on Sunday (22 May) between a Sheffield United Legends team and a Fulham All Stars side.
Hollywood actor and lifelong Blades fan Sean Bean will manage a United team that will feature the likes of Chris Morgan and Brian Deane, whilst the Fulham line up will include former player Jimmy Bullard as well as boxer Joe Calzaghe, comedian Jack Whitehall and Harley "Sylvester" Alexander-Sule, from English hip-hop duo Rizzle Kicks. Former United & Fulham striker Paul Peschisolido is preparing to play 45 minutes for both sides at Bramall Lane. The fixture will be held in aid of the Steelphalt Blades Academy, the Blades' Former Players Association, and Hallam FM's Cash for Kids charity, alongside the Fulham Foundation charity. Tickets are priced at only £7 for adults and £3 for concessions. Former World Cup Final referee, Howard Webb, will take charge of the game. Peschisolido, commenting on his time with the Blades from 2001 to 2004, said: -There were great times, it was a very close-knit squad which you've got to credit Neil Warnock and Kevin Blackwell for. -We were all what he would say 'misfits' and players let go from other teams but he managed to galvanise us and make us a force to be reckoned with. The match will see many of the 2005/06 United side which won promotion to the Premier League turn out for the Blades, with Morgan and Deane being joined by the likes of Alan Quinn, Derek Geary, Michael Brown, Bruce Dyer, Michael Tonge, Craig Short, Leigh Bromby and Alan Wright. Meanwhile, Harley from Rizzle Kicks has shared his excitement ahead of the game via a short video link above. The game, sponsored by Redtooth and Maggie Mays Bar, will take place on Sunday 22 May at Bramall Lane, kick off at 1pm, with tickets now on sale from the Bramall Lane box office, over the telephone 0114 2537 200 (option 1) or online on http://www.sufc.talent-sport.co.uk For more information on the game email info@sufc.co.uk or call 0114 253 7200.
