Bluebell Wood ambassador role for Alex

10th January 2018

Estate planner Alex Gibbons has been made an ambassador for Bluebell Wood Children's Hospice.

Alex works for Buchanan & Co Solicitors, which has supported Bluebell Wood with 'Make a Will' months over several years from its offices in Kiveton Park, Sheffield and Staveley, Chesterfield, leading to around £1.5 million in bequests to the charity. As an ambassador, Alex will help to spread the message about Bluebell Wood to potential new supporters, and encourage people to volunteer their time and skills and fundraise. All money raised helps children and young adults with life-shortening and life-threatening conditions in South Yorkshire, North Derbyshire, North Nottinghamshire and parts of North Lincolnshire. Alex said: -I've been involved in raising money for various charities for many years and Bluebell Wood was one, but when I was shown around the hospice by their Trust and Legacy Fundraiser Julie Booth, I realised just what a fabulous organisation it is. I'm honoured and humbled by the invitation to become an ambassador and will do whatever I can to promote Bluebell Wood's best interests. -At Buchanan & Co we help Bluebell Wood by assisting people to make a Will in return for which the fee we would ordinarily charge is paid to Bluebell Wood. Bluebell Wood is one of only a few charities that Buchanan & Co supports through Make a Will Month outside of the national Make a Will month. -I think all businesses have a civic duty to support local organisations, as most earn their living through the local and wider community so should give a little back. Claire Rintoul, Chief Executive, Bluebell Wood, said: -We're delighted to welcome Alex on board as an ambassador and are sure he will be a fantastic asset to our charity. Buchanan & Co have given immense support to Bluebell Wood over the years and helped to raise a huge amount through their Make a Will months. We really can't thank Alex and the team enough.
