Bluebell Wood motoring on for another year thanks to Burrows

15th April 2019

Bluebell Wood Children's Hospice is all geared up to motor on this year, thanks to a kind-hearted motor company.

For the second year running, Burrows Fleet and Business Centre in Barugh Green, Barnsley, has loaned a brand new car to the team at South Yorkshire's only children's hospice. Burrows stepped in to help the hospice in June 2018 with the free use of a Toyota Aygo for 12 months and have decided to keep their generous offer motoring with a bigger vehicle. A roomy and sleek white Toyota C-HR has now arrived and is providing invaluable to staff travelling to see young patients at home, or meeting supporters and attending fundraising events. Featuring the Bluebell Wood logo on its sides, the car promotes the charity wherever it goes. Burrows' kindness means the hospice can spend less on transport for the next year. Adam Hughes, Local Business Development Manager for Burrows Fleet and Business Centre, visited Bluebell Wood to hand over the keys to the new car. He said: -We're really happy to continue the strong relationship we have developed with such a well-loved and valued local charity and loan its teams a car for a further year. We know that Bluebell Wood relies on fundraising for 90% of its annual costs, so we're pleased to do what we can to help those funds go even further. Bluebell Wood supports children and young adults with life-shortening and life-threatening conditions. Rachael Dawes, Corporate Fundraising Manager, said: -We're absolutely delighted that Burrows have chosen to support us for the second year running. It makes a huge difference. -It means we can direct more valuable funds directly to the services our families need, whether that's arts and crafts and music therapy or counselling and end of life treatment and care. This generous loan is helping every penny that our amazing supporters raise go even further. Family-owned Burrows Motor Company now represents Toyota across five dealerships in Rotherham, Barnsley, Doncaster, Sheffield and Worksop. They also represent Kia in Barnsley and Mazda in Sheffield, plus a prestige used car dealership 'Burrows Mint Cars' in Sheffield. Their full operation is spread across nine sites in total including the Business and Fleet centre and they have sales, service, MOT and body-shop facilities.
