Bluebell Wood Presents at Annual Dinner

18th May 2018

Over 160 business leaders from across South Yorkshire heard how Bluebell Wood Children's Hospice makes a difference to families facing the toughest of times.

As the chosen charity for this year's Master Cutler's Challenge, the children's hospice was invited to the Institute of Directors South Yorkshire's annual dinner at the Cutler's Hall, Sheffield. Speakers included Master Cutler Ken Cooke and Paul Blythe, a former Royal Navy Submarine Commander. Representing Bluebell Wood, Corporate Fundraising Manager Rachael Dawes described to the business audience how the hospice supports children and young adults with life-shortening and life-threatening conditions, and their families. Professor Keith Jackson, Chairman of the IOD South Yorkshire, said: -Our annual dinner was a memorable occasion for many of the region's business leaders, with some inspirational speakers.  Attendees were fascinated to hear about the amazing Bluebell Wood Children's Hospice and delighted to support its important work. Rachael Dawes said: -We were really pleased to be invited by Keith to explain how we help families across South Yorkshire and the wider region. We'd like to say a big thank you to everyone who donated on the night, raising £1500 to help us with our work. Every penny we raise helps us offer more of the services that families need, from art and crafts and music therapy to counselling and end of life treatment and care. Sponsors of the event were CMS Law, Sheffield Universities' Managing Directors' Club, NatWest and Sheffield City Region Growth Hub. To find out how you can help Bluebell Wood and the 250 children and young adults it supports, both at the hospice and in the community, please visit www.bluebellwood.org.
