Book your space for the Roundabout Musical Drive-In!

30th April 2021

Get ready for a summer’s day of musical theatre magic as South Yorkshire youth homelessness charity Roundabout opens the box office for its Musical Theatre Drive In!

Organised and staged by Roundabout, the Musical Theatre Drive-In is a musical extravaganza that will be presented live in the orange car park at Meadowhall Shopping Centre on Saturday June 12.

Among the organisations already supporting the event are Meadowhall, The Leadmill, Sheffield City Council and Sheffield Hallam University.

Four full performances throughout the day - at 10am, 1pm, 4pm and 7pm - will see South Yorkshire’s most talented singers and theatre companies take to the stage for the first time since the pandemic lockdown saw all live performances cancelled.

And the box office for all four performances at one of the season’s most eagerly anticipated events is now open.

And for the next two weeks there is a special early discount, which gives bookers a £5 saving.

The shows will have a drive-in format, with all vehicles safely social distanced and with the numbers of performers on stage limited to follow all current government safety guidelines.

The cost for one car with just two people costs £35, with three people £47, with four people £60 and five people £65, with a seven seater restricted parking space for £70.

All tickets are subject to a ticket booking fee and there are limited socially distanced spaces available for people without a car.

From Hairspray to Wicked, We Will Rock You to Mamma Mia, Les Mis to Aladdin, the day will see some of the most popular theatre hits come to new life in support of Roundabout.

“Roundabout has been badly hit by the pandemic and to ensure we can continue running our services and be there to support as many young people as possible, we are looking to the future and creating events to help inspire both current and new supporters,” said the charity’s Events Fundraiser Emily Bush.

“This is a true drive-in experience but instead of a movie, we are aiming for a fantastic display of live entertainment.

“Sheffield is a city that really supports the arts and we cannot wait to be able to bring theatre back to the city in a covid-secure way.”

To make a booking for any of the four shows simply visit roundabouthomeless.org and follow the Musical Theatre Drive-In link.
