23rd August 2013

Brinsworth Academy of Engineering is launching a new range of gas safety training and employers will be invited to hear about the new offer at a free safety briefing event being held on Thursday 12th September 2013.

The academy hopes to see employers take on board the often over looked safety issues that involve the use of compressed gas in the engineering sector. The event registration commences with a light breakfast at 8:30am and will be held at Brinsworth Academy of Engineering, Sheffield Road, Rotherham. The morning briefing will give employers a vital presentation in the safe use of compressed gases, Oxy-Acetylene & Oxy-Propane, and will include recent and relevant industrial case studies outlining what lessons can be learnt and will outline best practices to help attendees meet their obligations as an employer. The event is being held in association with Proactive Gas Safety and Technical Director, David Openshaw will lead the presentation looking at the key health and safety issues when working with compressed gases, Oxy-Acetylene and Oxy-Propane. The presentation will cover important issues such as your employer responsibilities and how to effectively manage the associated risks within the workplace. Paul Reeves Business Development Director for Brinsworth Academy said: -We are delighted to be able to add to our commercial portfolio of safety programmes and gas safety is something that is paramount in the sector of engineering and we really see the value that this will add to employers.
