Businesses to the ice for Cavendish's Curling Competition

24th January 2022

Cavendish Cancer Care hosted their second Corporate Curling Competition this month, seeing over 60 people take to the ice to support the charity.

Charity fundraising is all about thinking outside the box, and that's just what Cavendish Cancer Care love. We were excited to host our second Corporate Curling Competition this month after such a successful event in November.

With the generous sponsorship from Highlander Computing Solutions, all funds raised from the event is going back to the charity to help fund hours of therapy for local families affected by cancer.

Over 60 people signed up and took to the ice on the 19th January, at iceSheffield. After a close two hours on the ice, the top 3 teams were crowned with; the 3rd place team featuring The Curve, Seven Hills Creative and Highlander; the runners up featuring the Master and Mistress Cutler and friends; and the winners being local insurance, risk management and HR firm ProAktive.

Photos from the event can be seen here.

Kirsty White, Strategic Partnerships Manager, at Cavendish says

"Curling is such a fun sport and something no one has ever thought to try. It was the perfect choice for a fun networking event to engage our corporate partners. What I love about the event is it caters for everyone, no matter what their job role may be or who they are at a company, it's a brilliant team building exercise."

Following the Corporate Curling Competition, Cavendish are launching the Master Cutler's Challenge in March and are encouraging businesses to sign up and take part. Each business will be given £50 seed funding to kickstart their fundraising with the plan to grow that in any legal and ethical means to give back to the charity in autumn.
