27th June 2016

Owlerton Greyhound Stadium has appointed a new restaurant manager.

Emma Dures, 42, has recently taken over the running of Owlerton's Panorama Restaurant. Emma, who lives in Barnsley, brings with her a wealth of experience in the restaurant and catering industry, having previously worked at the Fairway Hotel at Dodworth for four years as general manager. She also has 20 years of experience as a manager at a local pub and has worked in the catering industry since the age of 13. Emma is responsible for overseeing the day to day running of the restaurant, which is the largest restaurant in Sheffield with 300 covers and is virtually full when open for race nights on Tuesdays, Fridays and Saturdays. She will also be responsible for staff training and recruitment, as well as ensuring the restaurant team is working in sync with the kitchen staff. Emma said: -I'm really pleased to have joined the team at Owlerton Greyhound Stadium. The restaurant already has a great reputation for the quality of its food and diner experience and I want to build on this further to ensure our customers have an enjoyable visit with us each time they come. -My role will therefore be focused on bringing the whole team together to benefit the customers, using my previous experience to ensure we work in the most effective and efficient way possible. John Gilburn, managing director of Owlerton Stadium, said: -We're delighted to welcome Emma to the Panorama Restaurant. She has many years of experience and I'm confident she will use this to strengthen the restaurant team and enhance the experience we offer to our diners.
