Cathedral Archer Project Sleep Out

6th August 2014

As a day centre for homeless adults located in Sheffield Cathedral, Cathedral Archer Project (CAP) supports people with basic needs such as food, clothing and medical attention and aims to provide ways out of need towards sustainable lifestyles.

We support around 80 people a day. In 2013 CAP supported approximately 1,000 people of which 50% were new to the project or had not visited in the last 12 months. Sleep Out Friday 5th September Sheffield Cathedral Come and challenge yourself to sleep rough for a night to raise funds and awareness for CAP. Not only will you be helping out the Project but you will also get an insight into the lives of the homeless people CAP helps. The night begins with a tour of CAP and a chance to learn about our work changing the lives of homeless adults. After that, people set up their cardboard, roll mats and sleeping bags at the Cathedral. This is followed by some well-deserved cups of soup to keep you toasty for the night ahead! Here are a few quotes from our fantastic Sleep Out participants of the past: -The Sleep Out was so memorable. It has given me a lot to think about. -It is the best way to get a glimpse of what it is like to be homeless, cold and tired and it really furthers your understanding of the difficulties this creates. -A rewarding and enriching experience. Places are limited. Please download the Sleep Out Booking Form to book your place.
