The Yorkshire based 62-year-old joined Henry Boot Construction in 1988, progressing through the company to his current post as managing director.
Simon’s considerable career achievements and accolades include serving as a Fellow of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (FRICS). He also sits on the CBI Construction Council, is a board member and past National Chair of the National Federation of Builders (NFB), and is a board member and past president of the Yorkshire Builders Federation.
Simon was also one of the longest-serving private sector board members of the Sheffield City Region Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP) having served from 2010 to 2018.

Simon said: “I’m thrilled and humbled to have received such an award, this is recognition not just for me personally but for the wider team here at Henry Boot Construction.
“In an unprecedented year, I’m extremely pleased to see that so many of our NHS heroes are also being recognised. Having myself recovered from several serious illnesses in my lifetime, I have first-hand experience of the incredible work of those in our healthcare sector, and I would like to take this opportunity to extend my thanks, gratitude and appreciation to them.”
