CELEBRATING 20 YEARS on Paces Campus, High Green in 2017!

28th June 2016

We want to celebrate everything that has been achieved by everyone that has contributed and supported Paces Sheffield over the years.

Also to recognise especially, the achievements of our beneficiaries: the many children and adults that have accessed our programmes! We've come such a long way since founding the Paces Sheffield Charity in the 90's and moving onto our existing site in 1997. Back then we took on the old Secondary School in High Green from Sheffield City Council on a peppercorn rent and decided that it needed to be run by the community, for the community. We did our best to support groups to move in and then established a Development Trust to run the site as a co-operative. Norman Perrin (parent and first CEO) was the driving force and the vision he shared was to establish our own model of inclusion with specialist children and adult services at the heart of a community centre. That vision continues to challenge us today to enable those benefitting from our charity to be part of the whole Campus experience. Trisha Monteyne was our first Head and set the seeds to achieve registration with the DfES (nowDfE) after seeing the first Summer Schools held in Sheffield. The contribution of Norman and Trisha will always be valued and admired as they faced plenty of obstacles and challenges along the way but never gave up! Next year, 2017, will unite us all in celebrations as we recognise that without the founders, the vision and the lead from Paces Sheffield, the Community Campus would not exist! Please express your interest in helping us plan for our Celebratory / fun events during 2017 by speaking to any of the staff or telephone 0114 2844488 email info@pacessheffield.org.uk.
