Celebrating the Thrills and Elegance of Greyhound Racing during National Greyhound Week at Owlerton Stadium

Get ready to experience the excitement of the dogs as Owlerton Stadium, Hillsborough, proudly announces its participation in the inaugural National Greyhound Week (NGW) celebrations, from 28th August to 3rd September 2023.

This week-long event promises to be a spectacular showcase of the magnificence of greyhounds, the sporting community, and family-friendly entertainment.

Greyhound racing has a rich history and legacy, and National Greyhound Week acts as a tribute to these remarkable four-legged athletes. As part of their commitment to maintaining continued investment into the stadium, on 29th August Owlerton will be hosting a dedicated meet for greyhound owners and NGW governing bodies which will be televised on either Sky Racing or RPGTV.

Delight is in the air, as this is the first-ever National Greyhound Week; keep your eyes peeled for pop-up events when the GBGB roadshow travels UK-wide. If you’re searching for more ways to take part in supporting the 8,000-year-old canine breed, you could try volunteering at greyhound centres, consider adopting a retired greyhound, donate money to greyhound charities, and much more.
