Central Technology Restructures Board to Facilitate Growth and Nationwide Expansion

22nd March 2023

Ian Snow named CEO, Rob Longden appointed Managing Director

In order to support its continued growth plans and the development of its national branch network, Central Technology has announced a restructuring of the Board team. As of 1st February 2023, Rob Longden has taken over from Ian Snow as Managing Director, whilst Ian has moved into a newly created CEO position.

Central Technology has achieved consistent year on year growth over the last 12 years and this change will enable that growth to further accelerate in line with current targets.

Rob has been with Central Technology for 6 years and has spent that time within the sales, operations and service delivery teams, most recently as Commercial Director. Rob has over 30 years of IT industry experience within both SME and corporate sectors developing, implementing and managing service delivery teams, ITIL frameworks and driving service excellence through process and operational controls.

Prior to joining CT, Rob worked as Head of Service Management at BT for over 15 years, where he also had several other operational managerial roles within their Managed Services division. He was responsible for the ongoing management and development of a team of Service Delivery Managers and their key portfolio of customers. During this time, Rob also led the service management and operations teams as part of the enablement of BT’s communication services for the London 2012 Olympics and The Rugby World Cup 2015.

As a result of this broad service delivery and commercial experience, Rob’s skills are perfectly aligned to lead CT through its next phase of expansion.

Ian’s move to a full-time CEO role will see him focus on the strategic development of the business and ensuring the exceptionally high levels of customer service are maintained. This new role will draw on his past experience at Deloitte and as a Director at two high growth, market leading lift installation and maintenance businesses.

Ian commented, “Our goal was always to get CT into a position where Rob could take over as Managing Director and utilise his vast industry knowledge to help the business achieve its full potential. I am delighted we have reached the point where we can put this plan into action.”

Rob commented, “It is one of the proudest moments of my professional career to lead this tremendous company and the talented people within it, as well as being able to ensure successful outcomes for our valued customers.

I’ve had the pleasure of getting to know and work alongside our team and customers for a number of years. I believe it is this business experience coupled with my industry knowledge that puts me in a unique position to drive Central Technology forward. I am truly excited to see what we can achieve together in the coming months and years.”

With such a focus on growth, CT are constantly on the lookout for new talent to add to their expanding team. They seek out enthusiasm and professionalism in every applicant so if you would like to be part of the next chapter of CT, take a look at their current vacancies today.
