Challenge yourself to raise £2023 for MIN in 2023

17th January 2023

Help us to tackle coercive control by challenging yourself to raise £2,023 during 2023 for Mums In Need! Join us for a year of collaborative fundraising with our team. Help us to support mums and their children experiencing post separation abuse.

Mums In Need are a small charity based in Sheffield. We support mums who have left emotionally abusive relationships and are looking for support to rebuild their lives.

We offer our Mins (mums) a comprehensive package of support for as long as they need it. The types of support we provide can include counselling, 1:1 support sessions, legal support, financial advice, self-esteem and stress management workshops, yoga and other well-being sessions and peer support groups.

We are challenging the Mums In Need team to work together throughout 2023 to raise £20,00.

BUT we need your help!
Could you help us to reach our goal by joining us on our fundraising efforts? You can set up your own fundraiser and link it to ours.

You can even work collectively with your network to raise funds for MIN together. The more fundraisers that we have, the more chance we will have to make our fundraising target.

It's up to you how you do it - get creative and have some fun.
Here are some ideas for you to consider:

  • Skydive
  • Host a quiz night
  • Run or walk 5K
  • Sell items on Vinted and donate the proceeds
  • Host a bake sale
  • quit bad habits

Together, we can make a bigger impact on the lives of the families that we support.
*If 10 people aim to raise £2023 over the year, we would raise over £20,000.
*If 20 people aim to raise £2023 over a year, we would raise over £40,000.
This amount of money would make a huge difference to our service delivery, and how many mums we can support at one time.

The need for our services continually increases. We currently have a waiting list of 45 with an approximate waiting time of 4-5 months. With your help, we would be able to support more families, and reduce the amount of time that they have to wait to access our services. This will really benefit the mums who contact us and need our support NOW.
For every £10,000 we would be able to support 16 families with a 1:1 caseworker who will be able to provide them with emotional support, but will also give them access to sessions such as 1:1 counselling, trauma therapy, therapeutic sessions, and peer groups. We also help with legal support for repeated court applications.

If you would like to take part in fundraising, we would love to know about your efforts, and can share these on our website and social media.
