Sheffield Chamber of Commerce are delighted to announce that Andrew Hulse, partner of UHY Hacker Young, international tax and accounting specialists, has become the new Chair of Sheffield Chamber's International Business Forum.

Nick Patrick, Head of International Trade at Sheffield Chamber praised the appointment by saying, "This is absolutely great news for Sheffield Chamber members and the wider business community involved in international trade. Andrew brings to the role an unrivalled wealth of knowledge in the field of international trade and his passion and commitment to taking over as Chair of the forum is positive news for the business community." Commenting on his new role, Andrew went on to say, "Whilst the benefits of exporting continue, Sheffield businesses may question the opportunities and be wary of the challenges in the changing landscape ahead. For this reason, the role of the International Business Forum is more important than ever. In mirroring the Department for International Trade's own strategy objectives, we will Inform, Connect and Encourage local companies, providing support at a time where it is needed more than ever." Andrew's first role as Chair of the International Business Forum will be to host the inaugural meeting of 2019, where the main focus will be Brexit and the implications this is/will have on local businesses. Kirsty Long from the Department for Exiting the EU will travel to Sheffield to offer clarity on the Brexit deadlock and offer support and guidance to businesses to help them prepare for any eventuality resulting from Brexit. Whether you are an importer or exporter, or you are just concerned about Britain's economic future, then do not miss this exclusive event, which is free to attend for members of Sheffield Chamber. During the event, Andrew will set out the aims and objectives of the forum and discuss the initiatives and projects that the forum will adopt over the coming months. During this first meeting, delegates will also hear from Dr Tom Buckley from the University of Sheffield Business Management School. Tom will provide a regional overview of the region's export statistics and identify areas of strengths, weaknesses and opportunities. Nick Patrick, Head of Sheffield's International Trade Centre will then provide an update on some important upcoming changes to global Customs regulations and export documentation.
