Chamber President to Host Showcase Event to Celebrate Sheffield

19th July 2017

Sheffield Chamber President, Darren Pearce, invites the business community of Sheffield to join him at Sheffield Chambers showcase event, The President's Annual Dinner.

This black-tie dinner, sponsored by Doncaster Sheffield Airport, is one of the most high-profile dates in the region's business calendar, attracting over 300 business delegates and key city leaders. A drinks reception is followed by a three-course meal with table wine, two headline speakers and live entertainment. Daren Pearce, Centre Director of Meadowhall and Sheffield Chamber President, commented: -Sheffield is on the verge of a new era in the city's history in which we will once again see the brand of 'Made in Sheffield' be prominent on a world stage not only in the field of Advanced Manufacturing but also from the reputation that the city has developed in being a great place to live and the lifestyle that exits within the city. -Two very different but complimentary initiatives across the city are pushing this brand and with the world profile of our rapidly expanding Advanced Manufacturing Park coupled with the benefits of the outdoor economy and proximity of The Peak District has developed a unique blend and lifestyle that has put the city in an excellent position on a world stage. -The speakers for this year's Presidents Dinner exemplify this brand and the passion which is needed to realise this ambition. -John Graham one of the founders of Go Outdoors in Sheffield in which he built a global brand from his passion for the great outdoors. -An additional headline speaker focusing on advanced manufacturing is to be confirmed. -We all have a real opportunity to really capitalise upon the momentum within the city and I am keen that this year's Presidents dinner really celebrates the opportunity that is in front of us. Hosted once again by BBC Look North presenter Harry Gration, the dinner is taking place on 21st September at The Cutlers Hall, Sheffield. At the 2016 dinner, Sheffield Chamber launched its Hall of Fame award which recognised Sheffield's unsung heroes across the community and business sectors. Last year the Chamber was delighted to announce Richard Caborn, Martyn Ware and the Women of Steel and during the event this year, the Chamber will once again honour several individuals into the Hall of Fame.
