Change is inevitable. Knowing how to lead it well is a choice.

What if your people are not resistant to change?

What if they simply do not understand it, do not feel involved in it, or have not been given the confidence and capability to navigate it?

This is the space Paula Carter works in.

Paula is the Founder and Director of Inicio Success Ltd, a change and transformation business helping organisations make change work in practice, with people at the heart of it.

With more than 25 years of experience leading complex change, transformation and operational programmes across the public and private sectors, Paula has experienced first hand what makes change succeed, what makes it stall and, most importantly, what makes people come with you.

Her career has included senior roles with organisations including BT, the Department for Education, the Ministry of Justice, Social Work England and AES, alongside leading complex, multimillion pound programmes within the NHS and working across the UK, Europe and India.

Because a strategy does not deliver change. People do.

Paula believes successful transformation is not simply about introducing a new system, process, structure or strategy.

It is about people.

It is about creating understanding, building confidence, engaging those affected by change and giving leaders the capability to turn an ambition into meaningful and sustainable action.

That belief sits at the heart of Inicio Success.

“We do it with you, not to you.”

Inicio Success works with businesses and organisations that are facing change but may not have the internal capacity, capability or confidence to navigate it effectively.

This includes fractional change leadership, change capability development, coaching, operational change and practical support to help leaders translate strategy into action.

But what if you could build the capability to lead change yourself?

This is the thinking behind Paula's new Change Learning Programme.

Rather than bringing in an external consultancy to take ownership of change, the programme helps organisations develop the people and capability they need to lead change from within.

It is designed for businesses and organisations experiencing growth, restructuring, digital transformation, new ways of working, operational change or cultural transformation.

The programme helps participants understand:

  • What change really means for their organisation and their people
  • Why people respond differently to change
  • How to identify and address the barriers that can prevent change from progressing
  • How to engage people and create ownership
  • How leaders can build confidence and momentum
  • How to turn change from an initiative into something people can actually adopt and sustain

Learning change by working on real change.

This is not learning for learning's sake.

Participants apply the learning directly to a real challenge within their own organisation, creating an opportunity to develop their capability while also making progress on something that matters to the business.

The aim is to move organisations from:

“We have to change.”

to:

“We know how to lead change.”

Because you should not need a huge consultancy every time your organisation needs to change.

Paula's ambition is to help businesses and organisations become more self-sufficient, more confident and better equipped to navigate change.

By developing internal capability, organisations can create a lasting change skillset rather than relying on external support every time something changes.

Change can feel complicated. Leading it does not have to.

Paula combines strategic change leadership with practical experience, insight into people and culture, and a strong understanding of how change impacts operations.

Her approach is pragmatic, people centred and grounded in real experience.

Alongside Inicio Success, Paula is passionate about connecting business, education and communities. She works with schools, businesses and community organisations to create opportunities that bring people, organisations and communities together.

She is also a trustee of the Snowdrop Project and actively contributes to initiatives supporting education, employability, community development and better opportunities for young people.

Her purpose is simple.

To make change feel less daunting, more human and more achievable, while helping organisations build the confidence and capability to make it happen.
