Chef's Counter intro

14th June 2023

Chef's Counter is a brand new food events company by Chris Hanson, founder of Blend Kitchen. Here's a little bit about us.

Chef's Counter is a community interest company that brings incredible food events to under used community spaces. Combining incredible chefs, mixologists, sommeliers, interior design experts and local charities and community groups, we bring incredible food to incredible buildings.

Chris says  "I'm exceptionally fortunate to have a great team that I know can move Blend Kitchen forward without me. Stepping away gives me the opportunity to utilise the skills I've built up over the last 7 years of the Blend journey and put it into something that will deliver greater impact than the Blend business model allows".

The  idea came from Chris talking to a couple of friends who are involved with local charities about how their buildings and outdoor spaces are used. With charities running everything from museums to libraries to old chapels to listed halls, we saw an opportunity to organise incredible events in these spaces where the rent and the increased profile supported the charity and the work they do.

Their first public event at Sheffield General Cemetery's, Samuel Worth Chapel sold out within 3 days, proving already that people are buying into the concept.

With more events planned in partnership with a number of other charity and community partners, Chef's Counter has something for everyone. You can find out more about them through their website www.chefscounters.com along with their social media;
