China Red and AlS Gongcha Bag Top Spots At National Awards

21st May 2024

China Red and ALS Gongcha are the best specialist Asian cuisine restaurants in the UK and that’s official!

Over the past few weeks, owner Kelvin Quick has celebrated not one but two national wins in the Golden Panda and Golden Chopsticks awards.

The Golden Panda awards organised by global brand Hungry Panda celebrates excellence in the Chinese food industry, and it was here that Kelvin picked up the trophy as China Red came out top as the country’s best Szechuan restaurant.

The 'Golden Panda Award' stands as the world's exclusive international honour specifically dedicated to recognizing restaurant businesses focussed on Asian cuisine in the food delivery sector.

However, not content with one win, Kelvin then went onto the Golden Chopsticks Awards, where he picked up the top honour in the Sweet Treat category for ALS Gongcha.

Co-founded by Gok Wan, The Gold Chopsticks celebrates the enormous contribution of East and South East Asian cuisine to the UK catering industry and champions those who work within it.

“To win these awards is such a great honour, as they are both based on our customers’ satisfaction and our ability to deliver great food and service”

Kelvin commented.

So, if you want to experience first hand the award winning menu at China Red or enjoy a delightful treat at ALS Gongcha, simply pop along to either of the two city centre sites where you will be guaranteed a warm welcome (and of course a fantastic dining experience)
