Chris achieves full membership of STEP

5th May 2021

Senior private client advisor, Chris Shaw, who works at Graysons Solicitors in Sheffield, has added another string to his bow by completing The Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners’ (STEP) examinations to become a trust and estate practitioner (TEP).

STEP is the leading worldwide professional body for practitioners in the fields of trusts, estates and related issues.  Its members are subject to a rigorous code of professional conduct and are the most experienced and senior practitioners in the field of trusts and estates, with proven qualifications and experience.

Chris has worked in this field of law since 2003 and covers the whole range of wills, trusts, estates and elderly client work, including powers of attorney. He has particular expertise in dealing with estate administration, intestacies and missing beneficiaries, which can be quite complex.

In order to achieve the TEP accreditation, Chris has completed advanced certificates in the administration of estates, the administration of trusts, the taxation of trusts & estates and trust and estates accounting. These combined constitute the STEP Diploma in Trusts & Estates.

Anne Rogers, partner and head of Graysons’ private client team says: “I am delighted that Chris’ hard work has paid off.  He is an accomplished wills, trusts and estates lawyer and this has now been recognised by his full membership of STEP.  Families needing help to plan their long-term financial future, which often includes complex law and tax rules surrounding trusts, estates and inheritance, now have a further guarantee that they are receiving the best possible advice from Chris.”
