Cinderella Support Services celebrates 25th anniversary

Cinderella Support Services, one of Sheffield's leading facilities management companies, is celebrating 25 years in business.
Over the last quarter of a century, they have worked with countless customers, first in their hometown of Sheffield and steadily growing to cover multiple sectors across the UK. From the humble beginnings of Jason Machin - now CEO - starting a small carpet cleaning initiative as a side-line to his milk round, to its current position as a sector leader with more than 100 employees, the company continues to flourish. Jason explains how it all started; -I originally learned to carpet clean during my time as an apprentice at Birmingham Football Club, where I helped the landlord out from time to time. Cinderella really began when, at 21, my football career took a blow as a result of an injury. I had to look at other ways to make a living and took a milk-round. "I had the idea of buying a carpet cleaning machine. I put the machine on the back of my milk float and started to hand flyers out to the customers I delivered milk to, and gained my first carpet cleaning customers. Jason ran the business from his home for three years before he took on his first employee. He almost sold the business when he was offered another football contract in America, but instead took the smart decision to let his employee keep things running. Fortuitous, as Jason's football career was again cut short through injury. In 1996 at the age of 25, Jason returned to the UK, bought a unit in Attercliffe and the rest, as they say, is history. Cinderella now offers a windows, grounds, cleaning and reactive maintenance division and are the preferred supplier to numerous blue chip and government organisations. They have a 38-strong vehicle fleet and several highly-skilled teams on the ground, using state-of-the-art equipment across all divisions. Cinderella continues to go from strength to strength with recently appointed Managing Director, Phil Goleby, now at the helm.
