City Taxis welcomes new City Charity incubator for 2022, The Archer Project!

23rd December 2021

City Taxis have always been passionate about supporting local charities and over the past 20 years have raised over £200,000 for them.

To further support charities in the community, in 2020 they launched their own City Charity Incubator.  The incubator was set up to support a local charity, who would join them in their offices for 12 months, taking away some of the financial and business pressures charities face.  City Charity’s 2021 incubator’s Mums in Need, were provided with a space to grow, access to meeting rooms, Marketing and IT support, telephone lines and much more.

City Taxis are delighted to announce their new charity incubator for 2022, The Archer Project!

Running for over thirty years, The Archer Project is a place where homeless and vulnerable people can change their lives for the better.  The charity’s mission is to help homeless people build fulfilling lives by supporting them to develop their independence, improve their ability to tackle setbacks and help to identify and change negative behaviour to enhance their wellbeing.

Following an arson attack on their offices in 2020, the charity was left without a base.

Amy Tingle, Business Director of City Taxis, said:

“We are so humbled to be able to house the fundraising team enabling them to work together again, during a time where fundraising has been particularly challenging due to Covid restrictions.  The Archer Project are close to the hearts of many at City Taxis and we couldn’t be happier that they will be joining us at City HQ for the next year.”

City Taxis have previously supported the charity having been involved in their 2019 festival ‘Music for the Homeless’.  In 2016, two members of the City team (Business Development Director, Paul Gosney and Marketing Manager, Sacha Skinner) also participated in a ‘Street Sleep’ to raise funds for the charity.

Lynne Urpeth, Fundraising Team Manager of The Archer Project said:

“We are so excited to have been chosen to work with City Taxis as their 2022 Charity Incubator and are really looking forward to working alongside the team at City Taxis HQ.  The past two years have been a challenge for us and we are incredibly grateful for City Taxis choosing us whilst we work towards rebuilding our centre following the arson attack in 2020.  2022 is going to be an exciting year for The Archer Project and we can’t thank City Taxis enough for supporting us.”

City aims to nurture the charity and enable them to be in a greater position to do what they do best, supporting the community, with less pressure and burden than before the incubation period.
