Counter Context is a leading communications company based in Sheffield, that specialises in engaging communities and stakeholders around public policy, commercial development and infrastructure projects.

Counter Context was launched 18 years ago when the founding directors were asked by a local authority to deliver a consultation with genuine engagement, not traditional PR or market research. Since then Counter Context has designed and delivered hundreds of comprehensive and innovative consultations for clients and partners, engaging with thousands of stakeholders and communities across the UK. We also have experience delivering client work in Europe, Asia, Africa and North America. Our approach to consultation and engagement for any specific challenge or project is to provide a structured programme of two-way communication which enables developers to inform and engage with the communities affected, an increasingly important part of the planning process. This helps to ensure projects are delivered on time and on budget. We have helped clients obtain planning permission for large scale commercial developments, achieve funding for transport infrastructure projects and helped shape proposals, strategies and policies to improve services for numerous local authorities.
