Dave fits the Bill for Redtooth quiz team

23rd April 2014

Quizmaster Dave Bill has joined the country's leading provider of pub entertainment, as they look to form the ultimate quiz writing team.

Dave, 39, who captained his team 'The Lions' to the Great British Pub Quiz title in 2012, has joined Redtooth in Barlborough to help the company with its pub quizzes division. Redtooth is the largest supplier of pub quizzes to the UK market with more than 4,000 pubs and clubs receiving their weekly quiz. The company has a total of 24 different games available and has more than six million questions on its books. Dave, from Skelmanthorpe, Huddersfield, had been supporting Redtooth on a part-time basis during 2013, and jumped at the chance to join the team full-time when he heard the company were looking for a new quiz writer and game developer. He is now tasked with writing new quiz questions and helping the company to host new events around the country alongside TV quiz expert Mark Labbett, known for his role as 'The Beast' on the ITV hit quiz show The Chase. Martin Green, managing director of Redtooth, and fellow question setter Jeff Drinkwater complete the quiz writing team. Dave, who gave up a career in retail and sales to work for Redtooth, said: -I'm extremely proud to work for the biggest quiz company in the country. I've been a quizzer for many years and I took part in many of the events Redtooth hosted throughout the country, finishing as runner-up in the 2011 Great British Pub Quiz, before winning it in 2012 with The Lions from the Black Bull pub in Shepley. -So to now write hundreds of new quiz questions every day and help with all the events is the perfect job for me. I look forward to what will be an exciting year for Redtooth, as we continue to use our knowledge, technology and wealth of experience to deliver a quality service to pubs across the country. Redtooth employs 20 people at its headquarters in North Derbyshire and a further 20 people across the UK and abroad. Martin Green, managing director of Redtooth, said: -We are delighted Dave has joined Redtooth on a full-time basis. He will be a real asset to the company and his expertise will allow us to raise the profile of our quizzes as well as ensuring our questions are the best available to thousands of pubs. -He has won BBC quiz shows Pointless and Only Connect in recent years, so to have him alongside Mark Labbett on our quiz team allows us to stake a claim as the ultimate quiz writing team in the country.
