A warehouse and distribution company in Sheffield is set for a big splash after entering the annual Sheffield Raft Race.

DBL Logistics will take part in the event which will see tens of businesses and local groups from the city race down the River Don, between Rutland Road and Nursery Street, in four-person rafts on August 30. A specially created DBL Logistics raft has been developed to look like one of the company's distribution HGVs. Opportunities for sponsorship and donations to the DBL Logistics team are available. All proceeds generated from the event will be provided to the company's designated charity for the year Roundabout, which offers support to young people aged 16 25, offering shelter and life skills to homeless young people. David Clarkson, managing director of DBL Logistics, said: -We decided to enter the Sheffield Raft Race as a fun activity for staff and to raise funds for Roundabout; a Sheffield youth housing charity which we are very proud to support. Sheffield Raft Race, organised by Sheffield City Kayak Club, welcomes family, friends and spectators to cheer on the contestants who can either make their own rafts or hire the raft and safety equipment to take part. The day which is more about having fun than winning, but it includes a prize giving ceremony with accolades for the team which cross the line in third while singing a song.
