Document Network Services Celebrate 25 years In Business

12th March 2021

This year Managed Services Provider, DNS, are celebrating 25 years in business. Over the years, the Derby business has grown from solely selling printers & copiers to nationally solving business process problems for organisations.

This year, Managed Services Provider DNS are celebrating 25 years in business.

The business first began trading in a small office space on Macklin Street, Derby and now takes up residence in their very own Innovation Centre on Pride Park.

Over the years, Managing Director, Darren Marsh has grown the business from solely selling printers & copiers to nationally solving business process problems for organisations by supplying them with Managed Print, IT, Document Management and Communications. However, without the dedicated Document Network Services’ team this wouldn’t have been possible.

Here is what he had to say about the 25-year anniversary:

“It’s crazy to think we have reached 25 years already; it only feels like yesterday that I was sat behind my very sparse desk in Macklin Street. It’s a fantastic achievement for me and the DNS Team and wouldn’t have been able to get here without them. I’m very proud of where the company is today.”

Tracey Morley, Projects Manager, is the longest serving employee at DNS and explains why she has been a part of the team for so long:

“I have been employed by DNS for the past 17 years, which I realise is a long time, but in my opinion, if something isn’t broken then don’t fix it! The various job roles I have undertaken has meant that I have never felt bored or unfulfilled. Darren has made me feel like part of the family and I think that is key for retaining your employees. I know that I am appreciated and that gives me the drive to work hard work and the willingness to go that extra mile”

It is clear that the team are a close-knit family, Sales Manager Hugh, even left his own family business to join DNS.

“I have officially worked at DNS for 10 years this year – a decade, I can’t believe it! I moved on from my family business in the Printing Industry to join DNS as a Graphic Arts specialist back in 2011 – new to the city, new to working for someone else other than my father. Since then, I’ve met some amazing people, internally at DNS and built incredibly strong relationships with customers, too. It’s been a rollercoaster journey; learning new skills & personal development, helping to grow the business and introduce new systems and ways of working. I’ve loved every minute of my time here and can’t wait to see what the next decade has in store!” said Hugh.

To commemorate their anniversary DNS are celebrating in a number of ways, firstly they will be using social media to pay homage to the last 25 years by posting a number of throwback images every Thursday in 2021. From Darren’s first day in the office, to charity sports days and trips abroad. They are encouraging their customers and suppliers to share their memories of DNS over the years too.

Another way the team are celebrating is by pushing themselves to the limit! DNS will collectively be running, swimming, cycling, jogging and walking 2500km throughout April. Not only improve the team’s mental & physical well-being but also to raise money for the incredible me&dee charity. Keep an eye out for their #ActiveApril updates.

Finally, the team will also be organising a virtual wine tasting event to say thank you to the DNS customers for their continued support – especially after the challenging times we have all faced. The evening is set to be a chance to relax and unwind whilst enjoying some wine in the comfort of your own home.

Be sure to follow their social channels to keep up to date with the exciting celebrations.
