Robin Hood Airport Doncaster Sheffield has seen a 23 per cent increase in the amount of cargo it transports.

The figures, which represent the number of consignments in and out of the airport, show a second successive year of growth between April 2013 and March 2014 Doncaster Sheffield Airport, through operator Anglo World Cargo, managed consignments involving more than 25 countries during the 12-month period, including Australia, Mali, USA and key European destinations such as France, Spain and Greece. Dayle Hauxwell, Cargo Manager at Doncaster Sheffield Airport, said: -The growth is excellent and continued evidence that the Airport's cargo terminal is enhancing its reputation around the world. -The amount of freight being transported has increased significantly compared with two years ago and this can only be positive news for the Airport and the regional economy. -Having recently joined the team, I look forward to continuing this impressive growth throughout 2014 and beyond. Gary Winterman, managing director of Anglo World Cargo, added: -More and more companies are looking at Doncaster Sheffield Airport to distribute their products around the world. We have the means and capabilities to help them achieve that successfully. -It's great to see the work being put in by the Airport coming to fruition with these latest figures and we look forward to continuing this into the year ahead.
