Donor Run

31st July 2013

Take Part in the National Transplant Games Donor Run and help support local patients More than 10,000 people in the UK are currently in need of an organ transplant.

Of these, 1,000 die each year while waiting for a suitable donor to be found. On Saturday 17th August 2013, the National Transplant Games Donor Run will take place at Don Valley Stadium. With the option of completing the full 5km Challenge or a shorter 3km Fun Run, the Donor Run will provide a great opportunity to help save lives by raising awareness of the need for organ donation. For those involved, there is also the chance to make life easier for local patients and families at a difficult time in their lives by running for Sheffield Hospitals Charity. The money that you raise will be used to provide the highest quality care possible for patients by funding state-of-the-art equipment, pioneering research, support services, buildings and people.   To get involved, please contact the charity on 0114 271 1173 or charity@shct.nhs.uk
