Ecclesfield Gala Celebrates Bumper Total!

15th September 2014

Organisers aiming to beat last year's total for Ecclesfield Gala are celebrating after the event raised £7,200 for Macmillan Cancer Support.

This beats last year's total by over £1000. In 2013, the Gala raised an incredible £5850 and over the years the Gala has raised in excess of £125,000, money which has been used at the Palliative Care Unit at the Northern General Hospital. Committee member, Michael Whiting from Chapeltown said -The event is organised by volunteers and it's a real team effort. We're really pleased to not only have raised such a fantastic amount for Macmillan but to put on an event which the people of Ecclesfield really get behind and enjoy. On the day, the Gala entertainment included a Kennel club approved dog show, Phoenix falconry display, Dearne Youth Band, parrot rescue, dog agility display, classic motorbikes, stalls, games, amusement rides, slides, home made cakes and even Belly Dancing! The Gala team are already looking at plans for 2015, and are looking for companies to sponsor the event in 2015. If you are interested in finding out more then please call 07545 419 725.
