EDGE Celebrates a Decade of Growth and Innovation

8th January 2026

EDGE, a leading multi-disciplinary property and construction consultancy, is celebrating its tenth anniversary this month.

Founded by Nick Phelan and Lee Simmonite, EDGE has grown into a £20+ million turnover business employing over 150 professionals. With offices in Sheffield, Leeds, Nottingham, Birmingham, London and Newcastle, EDGE has established itself as a trusted partner across 17 core sectors, including residential, retail, manufacturing, defence, aviation, health and social care, education and urban regeneration.

“When we launched EDGE, our goal was to break away from the classic corporate traditions within the property sector and create a consultancy that prioritises clients, people, agility and meaningful partnerships,” said Nick Phelan, Founding Director.

“Ten years on, that ethos very much remains at the heart of everything we do.”

EDGE delivers Project Management, Cost Management, Building Surveying and specialist Advisory Services across landmark projects. Its portfolio includes major clients like BMW, Football Foundation, Aldi and B&Q – and it is currently delivering a major Siemens Mobility facility in Chippenham.

The firm has led significant public sector initiatives, from urban regeneration to nationally strategic healthcare projects – including the iconic Cambridge Children’s Hospital and the New Hospital Programme-funded National Rehabilitation Centre on behalf of Nottingham University Hospital.

EDGE has also supported key aviation developments at Leeds Bradford and London Luton Airports, and estate regeneration projects for leading universities, including Leeds, Reading, Birmingham and Nottingham Trent.

As EDGE enters its second decade, the leadership team is focused on future opportunities, innovation, and meeting the challenges shaping the property and construction sector.

Lee Simmonite, Founding Director, commented: “The next ten years will no doubt bring significant change in the sector, from sustainability and digital transformation to evolving client expectations and new regulations.

“EDGE is ready to lead that conversation and continue driving innovation across our sectors. What we do know for sure is that we will remain committed to our refreshingly straightforward approach, ensuring our senior leaders stay hands-on and accessible to our clients, ensuring quality and accountability at every stage.”
