Even when we're apart, we're still Sheffield Together.

15th February 2021

Sheffield Together is back for 2021! Whether you're a fantastic fell runner, journeyman jogger, willing walking, able ambler or dogged dog walker Sheffield Together is for you, just do it.

Little did we know on the 8th March 2020, that Sheffield Together would be the last event Cavendish Cancer Care could hold in person that year.

Over 130 runners, joggers and walkers joined in on a brilliant sunny morning to power through a new route around Ecclesall Woods and raise money for Cavendish services. An incredible £7,718 was raised and with the generous support of Headline Sponsors, Atherton Godfrey Solicitors, this meant every penny raised went directly into frontline services.

This event has been in the Cavendish calendar for over 8 years, and that’s why this year they are determined to bring the event to you - in your backyard as they say! This year is going to be different, but with the same aim as always, to bring us together and raise as much money as possible, to continue providing life changing therapy for families affected by cancer.

Cavendish Cancer Care is an independent charity, based in Sheffield, dedicated to offering free of charge support to cancer patients and their loved ones. They provide packages of therapy tailored to the individual to support both mental and physical health, including supporting children through their specialised Young People’s Service.

On 7th March 2021, it’s time to pop on the trainers and enjoy the great outdoors, right on your doorstep. Wherever you are, if you’ve got the will, they have a way.

Generously supported by their Partner Sponsor, Atherton Godfrey Solicitors, they have fundraising goodies up for grabs. If you reach £55 individual sponsorship, you’ll receive a Sheffield Together t-shirt, make that £110 individual sponsorship, you’ll get yourself a #TeamCav medal too. £55 is the cost of two hours of therapy for a patient who may be shielding at the moment, away from family and friends, and feeling anxious about their future. Cavendish can support them with individually tailored therapy to live their life to the fullest, despite a cancer diagnosis.

Matthew Gascoyne, Senior Solicitor at Atherton Godfrey, says “We are thrilled to be able to support Cavendish with Sheffield Together again this year. After a successful 2020 event, we have seen how hard charities like Cavendish Cancer Care have been hit by the pandemic. We encourage everyone to get outdoors and be together in spirit with us on the 7th March."
