Ex-players set to return for Charity Golf Day

4th June 2026

SWFC Community Programme will host its annual Charity Golf Day at Hillsborough Golf Club on 13th July 2026, featuring ex-Wednesday players including Daniel Pudil and Jon Newsome, with proceeds supporting community projects across Sheffield.

Sheffield Wednesday FC Community Programme (SWFCCP) is set to welcome supporters, businesses and former Owls players for its annual Charity Golf Day, taking place at Hillsborough Golf Club on Monday 13 July 2026.

The event promises a full day of golf, networking and fundraising, with all proceeds helping to support SWFCCP’s wide-ranging community work across Sheffield and surrounding areas.

A number of former Sheffield Wednesday favourites are already confirmed to take part, including Daniel Pudil, Imre Varadi, Jon Newsome and John Pearson, with further guest announcements expected in the coming weeks.

Designed to bring together local businesses, supporters and football fans, the event offers a competitive yet social format in a shotgun start competition. Teams will enjoy a warm welcome on arrival with breakfast provided, followed by 18 holes of golf before returning to the clubhouse for a buffet meal and post-round presentation.

The day will begin with arrivals from 8:15am, ahead of a 10:00am shotgun start, and will be held at Hillsborough Golf Club, Worrall Road, Sheffield, S6 4BE.

Entry is priced at £320 per four-ball, which includes breakfast on arrival and a buffet meal following play.

Funds raised from the event will directly contribute to SWFCCP’s ongoing work delivering programmes in education, health and wellbeing, employability, and grassroots sport, helping thousands of young people and families across the city each year.

Places are limited and demand is expected to be high, with organisations encouraged to secure their teams early to avoid disappointment.
