Exclusive early access to Fit for Work referrals for employers in Sheffield region

30th July 2015

We are pleased to announce that Sheffield Chamber of Commerce is one of only three chambers in England to have been given exclusive access to the Fit for Work employee referrals for its members and wider audiences.

The full roll out of the referral service for employers is scheduled to take place in autumn 2015, but employers in the Sheffield region can start making referrals today by calling our specialist team on 0330 221 0280. Some benefits of Fit for Work include: helping employers to better manage sickness absence; complementing the service that GPs provide to their patients who are off sick from work; supporting employees at work, and if they're off sick, in a way that's right for them. Fit for Work has two key elements: Free, professional and impartial work-related online health advice for employers, employees and GPs through the Fit for Work blog, advice hub, online chat with specialist advisors, and the option to email a question on work-related health topics. There's also a free telephone helpline (0800 032 6235). Voluntary referral to an occupational health professional for employees who have been, or are likely to be, off sick for four weeks or more. To find out more, take a look at the Fit for Work website, watch our new video explaining how it works, or follow Fit for Work on Twitter, Facebook or LinkedIn.
