Expert Duo Step Up To Partner Level At Bhp

Jenny Hurst and Dean Pearson have been promoted to partner level at BHP, Yorkshire's largest independent firm of Chartered Accountants.

Jenny is part of BHP's thriving healthcare team, which advises over 90 GP practices, around 450 locums and 140 dentists on accounting and a comprehensive range of specialist advisory services including tax planning, mergers, succession planning and NHS pensions. Jenny has worked at BHP for 21 years and has grown an extensive client portfolio, whilst gaining respect within the industry for her considered approach. Jenny says: -I thoroughly enjoy meeting with my clients, many of whom I have worked with for years, to help them grow their practices and provide advice on the challenges they may be facing. I am supported by a team of 30 specialist healthcare staff and our strong working relationships and commitment to client care are a key factor in our success. Jenny is co-author of the Kreston Healthcare Group annual GP Practices Benchmarking Report, which provides a detailed insight into the income and expenditures of GP practices. She also regularly presents at seminars and webinars on topical healthcare issues. With over 20 years accounting and tax experience, Dean has played an integral role within BHP's tax practice for the last nine years, helping to grow the business substantially. Dean specialises across the region in corporation tax relief for innovation, including research and development (R&D) tax claims. Working for SMEs, owner managed businesses and larger corporations within every sector, Dean advises them on how to reduce corporation tax liabilities through pre-year end planning, R&D claims and maximising capital allowances. He also undertakes extensive property transaction work as well as providing advice on a whole range of corporate structuring, approved share schemes and succession planning. Partner and head of tax at BHP, Chris Humphreys, says: -Dean has a hugely successful track record of quickly identifying where businesses can save vast sums of money. Dean will continue to service our existing client base whilst also developing new business opportunities for BHP.
