Faster Journeys From December with East Midlands Trains

DEPARTURE TIME CHANGES TO LONDON ST PANCRAS On services to London St Pancras new hourly departure times, Monday to Friday, will operate as detailed here.
From 8 December 2013 we're excited to announce that our new timetable will launch with faster journey times to and from London St Pancras. We're working with Network Rail to increase the speed limits on various sections of our network to enable faster journey times to London St Pancras, which is our biggest line speed improvement since December 2008. The investment of almost £70 million will enable us to reduce journey times on the Sheffield and Nottingham routes to and from London, making London closer than ever from these stations and those stations in between, with further journey time improvements planned for May 2014. The fastest journey time from Sheffield will now be 2 hours and from Nottingham will be 1 hour 31 minutes. Many more journeys also see an improvement and these journey time savings from the current timetable are detailed here. With these great time savings you now have more time to spend in the capital, be it taking in the sights, visiting friends and family or getting that extra bit of preparation time in before that all important meeting! The majority of the improvements to journey times will be made from December 2013 with further benefits being delivered from May 2014. So look out for more to come. As part of the changes for our faster timetable some departure and arrival times are changing across our network, which may also affect connections between services.
