Finance company’s clothing collection suits Sheffield charity
16th March 2026
A Sheffield charity which supports young people into employment by providing free interview attire and personalised styling sessions has been boosted by a major clothing donation.
Kind-hearted staff at the Leeds office of Evelyn Partners donated a collection of business wear to The Suit Works as part of its social value commitments.
The donation was made through Evelyn Partners’ involvement in South Yorkshire’s Giving Network (SYGN). SYGN was developed by South Yorkshire's Community Foundation (SYCF) to bring together businesses and philanthropists committed to tackling inequality and improving opportunities across the region through collective giving.
Evelyn Partners’ Leeds office is a strategic investment partner of SYCF and an active member of SYGN, supporting initiatives that help people into education, employment and training.
Michelle Dickinson, Head of Philanthropy and Programmes at SYCF, said: “This is an amazing example of the power of local giving in practice. This donation from the team at Evelyn Partners demonstrates their genuine commitment to creating social value in South Yorkshire. By supporting The Suit Works, they are helping remove barriers to employment and giving people the confidence and tools they need to succeed.
“We are proud to have Evelyn Partners as a key partner within our SYGN network and are delighted they have supported The Suit Works in this way.”
Throughout 2025, the Evelyn Partners Leeds team ran a workplace donation drive to collect high-quality business clothing for the charity.
Based in Sheffield city centre, The Suit Works helps unemployed people of all ages overcome the “clothing barrier” to employment by providing free, high-quality interview attire and personalised styling sessions to help clients transform their self-esteem and professional image.
Matthew Wells, Partner at Evelyn Partners, said: “Our support of The Suit Works greatly aligns with Evelyn Partners’ wider charitable initiative to transform the lives of young people from disadvantaged backgrounds by securing them the help they need to succeed not only in their education, but also their careers and their lives as a whole.”
Faye Mellors, CEO of The Suit Works, said: “We are incredibly grateful to Matthew and the team at Evelyn Partners for this generous donation. High-quality clothing donations are vital to our work and allow us to continue providing this free service to people preparing for interviews.
“It was a pleasure to welcome Matthew to our space and share more about the impact of our work. Support like this helps us continue offering a service that builds confidence and creates real opportunities for local people.”
SYGN delivers a series of events for businesses interested in growing their social value impact, measuring contribution to their local communities and learning from some of the region's exemplar organisations on how to maximise positive social impact as a successful business.
