Fraudulent Letters - Torres Pumps exposes scam!

13th June 2013

Torres Pumps brought to our attention a letter they had received which was basically a scam working on the back of VAT Registration.

IT IS NOTHING TO DO WITH HMRC!! We have reaised it with them and they have added it to their web site as a warning to everybody in the company. Please see the attached link for details. http://www.hmrc.gov.uk/security/examples.htm (see 2.2). Tremendous example of member and Chamber working together to try to get something controlled at source. Please don't hesitate to contact us if you get any more - its this sort of activity that gives the business community a bad name. Kind regards, Richard Wright Executive Director
