Free Apprentice for 4 months! Your Help needed

21st September 2012

Need an extra pair of hands or a few? We need the help of local employers from a CSR perspective.

Some young people were taken on in South Yorkshire for apprenticeships but the employer fell through. These young people need employers and as long as the employer hasn't taken on apprentices before, have less than 1000 staff, they get free staff for 4 months (as a £1500 grant covers their salary) which will pay them until the end of feb. After that the employer is liable for their salary if they decide to keep them on. These young people already started working towards an apprenticeship training in various subject areas and need the job placement element to help them complete. We have 19-24 year olds and some have mild learning needs such as dyslexia. These young people are interested in admin/reception roles, customer service, basic warehousing, retail and basic hospitality. They will work for 30 hours a week and will have a few hours of study time within that time. A government incentive of £1500 is payable for companies with less than 1000 employees and are employing their first apprenticeships, this is payable after 13 weeks employment. If you would like to register or would like more details please contact Amar Saleem at Sheffield Chamber on 0114 2018918 or amar.saleem@scci.org.uk
