Free event to boost future of SCR retail

23rd March 2016

Sheffield City Region retailers gather next month for an insight into the sector's future growth from business leaders and industry experts.

The Source Skills Academy's eighth Retail Matters Conference will be staged on April 12 to further boost the prospects of the region's retail sector. Organised as part of flagship training academy's involvement in the Local Enterprise Partnership to share best practise in retail, a host of speakers are lined up. Headliner at the free event is Randal Casson, PwC's retail leader in Yorkshire. He will share key research on UK retail spending patterns and highlight areas of growth. A popular Retail Matters speaker, Randal is PwC's current audit partner for national retailers, including BMB, Thorntons, Tommy Hilfiger, Vertu Motors and Bathstore. Sheffielder Sharron Lowe, a motivational speaker, author and growth coach credited with adding millions to the wealth of some of the world's most coveted beauty brands, will be interviewed on stage by event host Jo Davison, former Star women's and business editor. The Mind Makeover expert, who started out as a beauty counter consultant at Debenhams on The Moor, now works with the beauty divisions of Chanel, Lancome and Estee Lauder. She will be sharing inspirational tips on ditching negativity, achieving full potential and how to excel at customer service. -This event brings high-calibre speakers and strong networking opportunities to all. It is an invaluable opportunity for anyone looking to hear what experienced business leaders and retail industry experts believe will be crucial for future success in the retail industry, said Ann Cadman, director of The Source, a charity set up in 2003. She added: -The event attracts businesses of all sizes and past feedback has been exceptional. Long-established companies and corporate organisations willingly share their best-practise and numerous entrepreneurs have told us this helped them to see a clearer path into business. Learn from the best and the better your business becomes. The free event runs from 1-4.30pm at The Source Skills Academy, 300 Meadowhall Way, Sheffield, S9 1EA.
