Free virtual workshops for businesses - HR & employment law in the COVID world

10th February 2021

Award-winning, local law firm, Bhayani HR & Employment Law, is offering free virtual workshops to businesses and charities on COVID related HR and employment issues.

The last year has undoubtedly been the most difficult that the business community has had to endure for decades. Huge changes have had to be made to cope with diminishing work and income (or none at all) and many businesses have found themselves needing ongoing, up to date HR and employment law advice to help them stay abreast of changes resulting from the pandemic.

Bhayani HR & Employment Law has helped hundreds of businesses over the last year – in fact, it has been awarded a UK Business Hero accolade from the British Chambers of Commerce in recognition of this work. Determined to do as much as possible to help businesses keep afloat, much of the help and advice given by the team has been free of charge.  Virtual webinars and workshops (arranged via local chambers of commerce), advice on the radio and newsletters have kept the team busy, as well as responding to an ever-increasing number of telephone enquiries – an increase from eight to 60 a day, for example, from the hard-hit 10,000 members of the British Institute of Innkeeping.  So, in order to keep up with demand, managing director, Jay Bhayani, has decided to make the free virtual advice sessions available to any business or charity that needs expert HR and employment advice relating to COVID-19.

COVID related enquiries, such as “Do I have to send a new letter every time hours of work change when I have an employee on flexible furlough?”, “Can I force my employees to have the vaccine?”, “What do I do if an employee wants to continue working from home?” and “How and when should I make people redundant?” are just a few of the myriad of questions the team has handled.  These and other issues can be covered in the free sessions.

Jay says: “We have been inundated with enquiries, which is completely understandable at this very difficult time.  Businesses are becoming increasingly aware of the importance of having robust HR and employment policies and procedures in place and being able to access expert advice easily.  They are certainly recognising the value of our cost-effective, fixed-fee HR and employment service, Watertight, which also includes out of hours telephone advice and unlimited advice by telephone, video conference or email.  In fact, the package is so popular at the moment, take-up has grown by 93% in the last 12 months!”
