Gaming for Good 2023 challenge supports Roundabout

31st January 2023

THE national gaming festival that brings together games enthusiasts from across the UK will help provide vital support for South Yorkshire youth homelessness charity Roundabout.

Gaming for Good, which runs from February 11 to 25, is organised by national movement End Youth Homelessness, a network of local charities working together to tackle youth homelessness on a national scale.

The charity network includes Roundabout among the groups it supports around the country, supporting vulnerable young people throughout South Yorkshire.

All games lovers need to do is pick the game of their choice and invite friends, family, colleagues and followers to join in raising money for EYH’s charities.

That can be anything from the latest Playstation hit to a classic board game like Scrabble or Monopoly - any game is good so long as the playing raises money!

There are plenty of ways to raise funds, starting with something as simple as hosting a Video Gaming Tournament and charging an entrance fee or getting sponsorship for a marathon gaming session.

Other suggestions include organising a Tag-team marathon – with friends teaming up and completing a game in 24 hours - hosting a stream in fancy dress or allowing viewers, family and friends to give gamers forfeits in exchange for donations if they fail a level or lose a round.

“This is a great opportunity to get the gaming community together for a fantastic fundraiser that will support some of the most vulnerable members of society,” said Roundabout Fundraising Manager Emily Bush.

“We’re challenging you to Game On and raise awareness and vital funds to help vulnerable young people find a safe, secure place to call home.

“So pick up your games console or your dice, start playing your favourite game and make a real difference.”
