Gatecrasher Apartments Welcomes First Tenants

17th November 2016

A brand new £11 million student complex on the site of the famous former Gatecrasher nightclub has officially opened its doors to tenants.

The first residents have moved in to Gatecrasher Apartments, after developers brought a new lease of life to the site, which now provides a top-quality home for students. The site, located on the corner of Arundel Street and Matilda Street in Sheffield city centre, has been transformed into luxury student accommodation, providing 243 beds, mostly in clusters of three, four and five beds, all en-suite. There are also 90 one-bed studios each with a kitchen with integrated full-size oven and appliances, breakfast bar, large fitted wardrobe, settee, double bed and 40-inch Smart TV and includes 50GB broadband. Communal features include a gym, cinema room, a lounge and an internal courtyard landscaped as a record turntable to reflect the previous use of the land, which is on the doorstep of Sheffield Hallam University. Gatecrasher Apartments is part of the West One accommodation portfolio that already embraces student flats in the award-winning Sellers Wheel in Arundel Street, Huttons Buildings in West Street and at Broomgrove Apartments on Broomgrove Road, as well as the West One residential, leisure and commercial development in Fitzwilliam Street. Andrea Marsden, marketing and residential manager, said: -Gatecrasher Apartments has been many years in the making so it's fantastic to see it come to life. It's a landmark development for Sheffield with such a historic past and has been a great project to be part of. -The accommodation is of extremely high quality, with good sized areas and excellent fixtures and fittings, whilst still being great value for money. -The complex is in a very exciting area of the city in the Cultural Industries Quarter, close to amenities and just a short walk to Sheffield Hallam University, making them an ideal choice for students.   The Gatecrasher complex also has commercial and office units at ground level, a 'green' environmentally-friendly roof and be part of the Community Heat and Power scheme that is linked to the Bernard Road incinerator. Rent for shared Gatecrasher Apartments is from £110 per person per week, including all bills, with studios available from £135 per person per week. Lettings are now also available for September 2017.
