GDPR What Does It Mean For My Business?

31st July 2017

Due to high demand the event is now Fully Booked.

A further seminar date has been added to the calendar 25th October.  Data protection law in the UK is changing significantly with the introduction of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) in May 2018. The changes are the most significant since the introduction of the Data Protection Act in 1998. Although the changes are a few months away business should start the preparatory work now. The new GDPR regulations will affect the legal obligations on business and organisations associated to the way that they process or control data and will provide new rights to those whose personal data is being stored. The financial penalties associated to non-compliance are substantial, so it is essential that business understand the impacts and take the time to amend policies and procedures in their organisations. As a result Sheffield Chamber of Commerce, will be hosting this informative and interactive seminar in association with Patron members Wosskow Brown, ITI Networks, and Workflow. We will aim to answer the following questions that will impact your business: How will the new GDPR legislation affect my business? Is the way I store my data compliant under the new reforms? How do I communicate with my customers after May 2018? Do I need a designated Data Protection Officer in my business?
