Get a taste for Sheffield with Kelham Island Food Tours

Launched at the end of 2018, Kelham Island Food Tours offers a new way to experience food and drink in area.

We have teamed up with the great food and drink businesses of Kelham Island to offer a taste of independent Sheffield. A unique eating and drinking experience, the tours take you on a culinary journey of this historical district where you can go behind the scenes, meet the people behind the businesses and sample some of the best food in the city. Featuring Sheffield's first and only urban cheesemaker, a bean to bar chocolate maker, coffee roasters, bakers, local gin and beer, and a whole host of independent restaurant, cafe's, pubs and bars. Kelham Island Food Tours is passionately committed to providing tour goers with a fun and memorable experience, whilst championing the independent food businesses in the area and helping put Sheffield on the map as a UK foodie destination. Our logo uses the combination of a fork and the iconic Bessemer Converter as a nod to the area's heritage and it's newly found status as one of the best places to eat and drink in Sheffield. On The Artisan Tour, you learn about the intricate process of chocolate and cheese making and enjoy a tutored coffee tasting, as well as consuming generous samples of food and drink produced in the area. The Taste of Kelham Island Tour visits a range of eating establishments, enjoying delicious samples at each stop. Providing a unique insight into the area's eating out scene, the tour takes in 5-6 venues where you sample a selection of diverse cuisines - expect anything from vegan junk food and pan-asian bao buns, to Sardinian street food, authentic Balkan cuisine and homemade tray-bakes. As well as hosting regular scheduled tours, we offer private tours for corporates and special celebrations. Recently, we have celebrated a local engineering firms second birthday with a beer tour, hosted a client entertainment evening, booked a number of hen-do and birthday celebrations and are now taking private and corporate bookings for Christmas. Tour sizes range from 6 - 15 people and we can discuss ideas for hosting larger groups, where required. Please get in touch to discuss ideas for any forthcoming events you have coming up.
