Gizmos, Gadgets and the Power of the Pen - Promo Show 2016

2nd September 2016

The hottest gadgets and gizmos that help businesses build brand-power will be unveiled when South Yorkshire's only branded merchandise exhibition opens its doors next month.

The Steel City Promo Show 2016 will see 30 merchandising manufacturers and importers take over the Millennium Gallery with the very latest products to hit the market. Visitors to the free all-day event will get to view thousands of the most innovative and desirable promotional items. Hi-tech gadgets will include virtual reality goggles, digital activity bands that monitor calorie-burn, sleep and activity levels, and gizmos that boost every worker's biggest asset - their mobile phone. But the humble pen and tea mug will also have a big place, say event organisers, Sheffield-based Steel City Marketing, -Research proves 89% of people keep a branded item they find useful. And the pen still reigns supreme, even in the face of stiff competition from digital gadgets, said James Biggin, MD of Steel City Marketing. The company, which launched 36 years ago, is staging its third Promo Show to stress the important role branded merchandise plays in business. -Research shows 83% of people purchase from companies who have provided them with branded gifts, said James. -But companies need to ensure they pick the right client 'freebies' to send out the most powerful message about them and their brand. We are bringing together 30 of the country's top manufacturers for local firms to meet. We want businesses to leave inspired and full of ideas for their next marketing campaign. Alongside the promotional showcase, companies can also find out how the power of traditional marketing, social media and PR can boost their business orders. Top marketing and PR experts Jessica Zeun of Zeun Digital, Faye Smith of Keep Your Fork Marketing and PR and former journalist Jo Davison will be staging seminars during the day. In addition, Sheffield's GREAT ESCAPE will be running its first live corporate escape game for Promo Show guests. Entrance, lunch and afternoon tea at the October 4 10am-4pm event is free.
