Global law firm CMS announced as headline sponsor of Sheffield Business Awards 2021

12th October 2021

International law firm CMS is reinforcing its decades’ long support for the ‘city of innovation’ by becoming headline sponsor of the Sheffield Business Awards 2021.

Kevin Nudd, senior business development manager, said: “Sheffield has always been a city of innovation, a city of entrepreneurs and a place where hard work is rewarded. That is as true today as it’s ever been.

“CMS has been proud to support Sheffield business for the last 30 years, and we are delighted to sponsor these awards – specifically aimed at recognising and rewarding those attributes.”

Sheffield Chamber is partnering with unLTD magazine on the Sheffield Business Awards with a rebooted event, including four new categories, to celebrate the successes of the business community after a challenging year.

After 18 months of virtual working or social distancing in workplaces, this year’s event, on December 9, will be a more informal affair as guests gather to enjoy a night of celebration, networking and culinary delights at the venue best known for hosting Peddler Market.

unLTD editor Richard Fidler said: “CMS are no strangers to the pages of unLTD magazine – we have covered numerous positive news stories from their major office move to their fundraising work in the community raising £18,000 for local youth homeless charity Roundabout.

“They have been a high-profile international business with a strong Sheffield presence for three decades and we are thrilled to have their support as headline sponsor of our awards.”

Sheffield Chamber executive director Alexis Krachai said: “CMS’s commitment to the city, our business community and local economy was evident back in 2019 when they relocated from Victoria Quays and signed a 20-year lease for premises at 1 Charter Square, part of the Heart of the City II project.

“Having the backing of a global law firm for our event underscores the firm’s continued commitment to embracing the opportunities our vibrant region offers.”

Sheffield Chamber and unLTD have refreshed and rebooted the categories and simplified the entry process for this year’s event, to ensure that businesses, social enterprises, and charities all have an opportunity to shine.

Whether you plan to enter, attend, or simply want to celebrate with the winners online, get involved in the 2021 Sheffield Business Awards.
