Grant Thornton Sheffield get active for Autism Plus

The Sheffield office of Grant Thornton, one of the world's leading organisations of independent assurance, tax and advisory firms, are showing their support for local disability charity Autism Plus.

Alex Harnett, Chelsea Hale, Rebecca Sutton, Helen Millar, Chris Bagnall and Emma Harper are taking part in April's Sheffield Half Marathon to help raise vital funds for the charity. The Sheffield Half Marathon attracts thousands of runners from across Yorkshire and beyond. On Sunday 6th April 2014 the route will lead runners through Sheffield city centre, starting and finishing at the Don Valley Bowl. Autism Plus works across the north of England supporting individuals with a range of complex needs including autism, learning disabilities and mental health diagnoses improve their quality of life by developing their confidence and skills and enabling them to be as independent as possible. Rebecca Sutton Associate Assurance for Grant Thornton said: -We are excited to be running for Autism Plus in this year's Sheffield Half Marathon. It brings together two key areas of great importance to Grant Thornton: supporting local organisations such as Autism Plus who do fantastic work in our community, and maintaining a healthy and active lifestyle as part of Grant Thornton's nationwide staff wellbeing initiative.
