Gripple teams bring design and engineering skills to Krazy Races!

20th February 2026

Three teams means three times the chances of winning as Sheffield company Gripple signs up to compete in the year’s most colourful and exciting challenge event.

The inaugural Krazy Races Soapbox Derby comes to Sheffield city centre on June 21, raising money for South Yorkshire youth homelessness charity Roundabout.

And award-winning Sheffield company Gripple has three teams signed up to take part in what promises to be a day of wild costumes and imaginative designs, unique, hand-built soapbox karts and plenty of excitement.

Gripple’s Moulding Monkeys are a group of hands-on technical operatives with a passion for all things engineering who say they’re ready to engineer their way to the finish line thanks to their knowledge of precision components and solving complex production challenges.

Full Cast Ahead represent Gripple Hellaby and say they have the know-how, experience and imagination to turn metal and ideas into magic.

The Gripple Ideas and Innovation team are based at company’s Don Road office, specialising in the concepts that they think could make them a winner - and they’re already gearing up for the start line by beginning work on their vehicle!

“It’s been great to meet some of the team members and we very impressed with the concepts and design ideas,” said Roundabout partnership manager Chetna Raniga-Jogia.

“We are so pleased to have Gripple on board this year and grateful for the support!

“With Gripple’s engineering reputation, we can’t wait to see what they’re building!”

The Krazy Races day promises wild costumes and imaginative designs, unique, hand-built soapbox karts and plenty of excitement, laughter, and high-energy racing for all ages.

Beyond the races, visitors will also enjoy a full day of family fun, including fairground rides, food and drink stalls, and live entertainment.

Teams will be made up of local businesses, schools, and community groups, making Sheffield Krazy Races a true city-wide celebration.

Team entry fees and sponsorship money from the Sheffield Krazy Races will go directly to Roundabout, ensuring that every soapbox on the track helps transform young people’s lives in Sheffield.

Sponsorship opportunities are also available, giving local businesses the chance to support Roundabout while gaining exposure to thousands of spectators.
