Head of IT at Graysons smashes charity goal in memory of family members
15th September 2020
Paul White, head of IT at Graysons Solicitors raises over £500 for cancer charity, Maggie's Centre.
It’s fair to say that everyone’s lives are touched by cancer and Paul White is no different.
Paul lost grandparents to the disease and, more recently, two of his uncles have undergone gruelling chemotherapy.
The keen cyclist decided to get on his bike and devote August to raising money for Maggie’s Centre – the national charity that offers free support to help people take back control when cancer turns life upside down.
Paul originally set out to cycle 500km but ended up smashing his target and completing over 1,000km – raising £515 in the process. He said:
“Like so many people, I’ve seen the devastating effects of cancer on close family members. Maggie’s Centre provides an amazing and free service and I felt I wanted to do something to help the charity. I’m a keen cyclist so I thought I’d try to put it to good use.”
Paul’s fundraising was part of the Maggie’s Centre August Challenge which has raised over £125K.
