Hentons is on a roll with further award shortlisting

27th September 2021

Multi award-winning chartered accountancy and business advisory firm, Hentons, has been shortlisted for a coveted award at the payroll industry’s equivalent of the Oscars – The Annual Excellence Awards.

Run by the Chartered Institute of Payroll Professionals (CIPP), Hentons’ payroll team has been shortlisted for the ‘Service Provider of the Year’ Award.

The Annual Excellence Awards are the longest-running, independent awards in the UK payroll and pensions industry. Hentons’ Payroll Director, Jessica Haunch, said:

“Our team continually go above and beyond, providing a timely and best-in-class service. We offer sound technical and legislative advice to clients, whilst making best use of the latest technology and software and continually receive positive client feedback.”

Hentons’ reliable and efficient payroll team offers a fully comprehensive national payroll service to sole traders, partnerships and companies throughout the UK. The team were also shortlisted as a finalist in the ‘Team of the Year’ category at the 2021 Yorkshire Accountancy Awards.

Peter Watson, Managing Director of Hentons, said:

“The last 18 months have been a real challenge for businesses, due to the impact of the pandemic. The introduction of the Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme (CJRS) and Statutory Sick Pay (SSP) rebate scheme meant that the payroll team had to adapt rapidly to the changing environment and increased workload, which they did with great resilience and enthusiasm.

“As well as prioritising their clients, Jess and the team are also incredibly dedicated and committed to their training, compliance duties and technical knowledge. The team has doubled its number of clients in the last 8 years, whilst continually focussing on their professional development and they really deserve the recognition that this award shortlisting brings.”

Hentons recently scooped two top awards at this year’s prestigious Yorkshire Accountancy Awards. The firm’s Digital Division was named ‘Team of the Year’ and Moosa Sacha, Hentons’ IT manager, was presented with the ‘Support Staff of the Year’ award.

Hentons, which is ranked as one of the top 100 accountancy firms by fee income in the UK by industry bible Accountancy Age, has five offices in Leeds, Sheffield, York, Thirsk and London. The company now employs a 120-strong team and has grown turnover by 13 over the last 12 months.
